What to Expect When You’re Expecting Technology in Class

Music education has never been so exciting.  Whether you have access to very little technology or have a classroom equipped with tablets, almost everything you do with technology should be simple. If your tools aren’t fun, simple, memorable, or beautiful, you won’t use them. In this seminar we hope to show you what we’ve done, with no budget, to create the experience we wanted.  Everybody has their own styles as teachers, and we think the secret of technology is in finding your own voice rather than being absorbed into a format. We are teaching through an era of systematic changes.

Carney, chosen by Apple as “Editor’s Choice” iBook author, unravels best practices for integrating technology to create an interactive classroom experience. Tactile, visual, and aural technology enables students to learn faster, connect more dots, and leads to greater information retention. Used properly, technology should be simple, comfortable, and promote deeper discovery in class.
